1. DISCLAIMER
Skip the Box Office (“Skip”, “Skip the Box Office”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates an online ticketing platform that enables event organizers, promoters, venues, and hosts (collectively, “Promoters”) to create, promote, and sell tickets to events.
Skip acts solely as a facilitator of ticket transactions between Promoters and purchasers (“Customers”, “Attendees“, or “you”). Skip is not the organizer, host, or operator of events listed on the platform unless explicitly stated.
2. SCOPE AND APPLICATION
This Refund & Cancellation Policy applies to all ticket purchases made through Skip’s website, domains, applications, and services (collectively, the “Services”).
By purchasing tickets through Skip, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Each event may be subject to its own terms set by the Organizer; and
- This Policy governs refund eligibility only where the Organizer has not provided separate terms or where additional clarification is required.
3. GENERAL REFUND POLICY
All ticket sales made through Skip the Box Office are final.
Except where explicitly approved in accordance with this Policy:
- Refunds are not provided
- Exchanges are not provided
- Credits are not provided
This applies to all purchases, including but not limited to:
- Accidental purchases
- Incorrect ticket selection (date, time, quantity, or event)
- Change of personal circumstances
Refunds are extremely limited in availability and should not be expected under normal circumstances.
4. ROLE OF EVENT ORGANIZERS (PROMOTERS)
If the Promoter has their own refund policy, the Promoter is responsible for setting and enforcing their own refund, exchange, and cancellation policies.
Key principles:
- Refund decisions are entirely controlled by the Organizer
- Skip does not have authority to override an Organizer’s decision
- If an Organizer denies a refund, that decision is final and binding
Where an Organizer has established a refund policy:
- All refund requests will be reviewed strictly in accordance with that policy
Where an Organizer has not provided a refund policy:
- This Policy shall apply by default
- Under such circumstances, refunds are not issued
5. REFUND REQUEST PROCESS
5.1 Contacting the Organizer
Customers must first attempt to contact the Organizer directly using the contact information provided on the event page.
5.2 Submitting a Request Through Skip
If:
- The Organizer cannot be reached; or
- No response is received within a reasonable timeframe
You may submit a request through Skip’s support system via your account.
You must include:
- Order number
- Event details
- Reason for request
- Any supporting documentation (if applicable)
5.3 Review Process
- Requests may be forwarded to the Organizer for review
- Skip may, at its sole discretion, review requests where necessary
- Submission of a request does not guarantee approval
6. NON-REFUNDABLE CIRCUMSTANCES
Refunds will not be issued under any circumstances including, but not limited to:
- Failure to attend an event
- Scheduling conflicts
- Travel issues or delays
- Personal or medical reasons
- Weather conditions (unless the event itself is cancelled)
- Purchasing the wrong ticket, date, or quantity
- Duplicate purchases caused by user action
- Change of mind after purchase
Customers are solely responsible for reviewing their order details prior to completing a purchase.
7. PLATFORM-LEVEL REVIEW AND DISCRETION
In rare situations where:
- The Organizer is unreachable; and
- No refund policy exists
Skip may review a request at its sole discretion.
However:
- Skip is not obligated to issue any refund
- The default outcome in such cases is no refund
Any exception granted:
- Is case-specific
- Does not establish precedent
8. FEES AND NON-REFUNDABLE CHARGES
In the rare event that a refund is approved:
- Only the ticket face value and applicable taxes may be refunded
- All platform fees, service fees, and processing fees are non-refundable
Skip retains all platform-related fees in full.
9. EVENT CHANGES, POSTPONEMENTS, AND CANCELLATIONS
9.1 Organizer Responsibility
All decisions regarding:
- Event cancellations
- Postponements
- Rescheduling
are made solely by the Organizer.
9.2 Refund Eligibility
If an event is:
- Cancelled → Refunds may be issued in accordance with the Organizer’s policy
- Postponed or rescheduled → Tickets typically remain valid, and refunds are generally not provided
Skip does not guarantee refunds in any of the above scenarios.
10. DUPLICATE ORDERS AND ERRORS
Customers are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all purchases.
- Purchasing multiple tickets or duplicate orders is considered user responsibility
- Refunds will not be issued for duplicate purchases caused by user error
Only in the unlikely event of a verified platform malfunction may a request be reviewed.
Such determinations are made solely by Skip.
11. TICKET TRANSFERS AND RESALE RESPONSIBILITY
If you are unable to attend an event:
- You are solely responsible for transferring or reselling your ticket
- Skip does not facilitate, manage, or guarantee resale transactions
Tickets may be transferred or resold:
- Privately
- Through third-party marketplaces
- At your own discretion and risk
Skip assumes no liability for resale activities.
12. CHARGEBACKS AND PAYMENT DISPUTES
Initiating a chargeback or payment dispute:
- Does not guarantee a refund
- May result in account suspension or restriction
- May be contested by Skip or the Organizer
Customers are encouraged to follow the official refund request process before initiating disputes.
13. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Skip is not liable for refund decisions made by Organizers
- Skip is not responsible for event cancellations, changes, or Organizer conduct
- Skip does not guarantee refund outcomes under any circumstance
All purchases are made at your own risk.
14. POLICY UPDATES AND MODIFICATIONS
To the fullest extent permitted by law:
- Skip is not liable for refund decisions made by Organizers
- Skip is not responsible for event cancellations, changes, or Organizer conduct
- Skip does not guarantee refund outcomes under any circumstance
All purchases are made at your own risk.
